What our engineers handle on CentOS
This is the hands-on work, done by a person: the jobs the automatic tools cannot do for you.
- 1Audit the server: what runs, what is unpatched, what depends on CentOS-specific packages
- 2Reduce risk right away: restrict exposed services, tighten SSH, firewall and monitoring
- 3Move to AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux with an in-place tool or a new server and a clean transfer
- 4Verify sites, mail, databases and cron jobs after the move and keep the old server until you sign off
Problems we fix
Problem
The server cannot install updates because the repositories are gone
What we do
We point it at the archive or switch it to a supported system, so you can at least install what is needed while the migration is planned.
Problem
cPanel will not update on the old CentOS version
What we do
We plan a transfer to a new AlmaLinux server and move accounts across with checks, because cPanel no longer supports the old OS.
Problem
An in-place conversion left the system in a mixed state
What we do
We inspect the package database, repair what we can, and rebuild on a clean server from your backup if repair is riskier.
Automatic tools, and our team for the rest
RootManage is automatic server management with every tool in one place. The tools run by themselves on a schedule and report to one dashboard. Everything they cannot do, and every emergency, is handled by our engineers by hand.
Automatic
Checked on a schedule we agree
Manual, by our engineers
Everything else, and every emergency
- Hands-on work. Fixes, tuning, migrations, upgrades and the other jobs listed above on this page.
- Emergency work. A hacked site, an outage or a failed update is handled by a person who investigates and fixes it, not by a script.
- Things we do not automate. Anything the tools do not cover is done by hand, over SSH, WHM or RDP, on a login you can remove at any time.
We manage it over SSH. The agent installers are built for the Linux distributions listed in the agent guide, so we confirm which agents fit your server before installing anything.
The tools are optional, run on Linux servers and are installed by you with one command each. Every job our team does is recorded as a task in your dashboard with the details, and you get an email when it is updated.
How it works
- 1
Sign up
Create an account, choose a plan and add the server you want managed.
- 2
Give access
We connect over RDP or SSH on a login you create, and you can remove it whenever you like.
- 3
Automatic, with people behind it
An engineer checks the server on the schedule we agree and does the hands-on work. You follow every task in your dashboard.
Questions about CentOS
Is it safe to keep running CentOS 7?
It is not safe for anything exposed to the internet, because it no longer gets security fixes. If you cannot move today, we reduce the exposure and agree a date to move.
AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux for the move?
Either works, and both support cPanel. We will recommend one based on your panel, your hosting provider and the tools you use.
What does it cost to have CentOS managed?
Managed plans start at ₹1,999 a month for one server, and CentOS is managed as part of the server. The pricing page lists what each plan includes. If a server is already infected, the emergency cleanup is a one-time ₹9,000 job.
