What our engineers handle on Fedora Server
This is the hands-on work, done by a person: the jobs the automatic tools cannot do for you.
- 1Apply dnf updates regularly and plan the system upgrade to each new Fedora release
- 2Keep SELinux enforcing and firewalld set for the services in use
- 3Use Cockpit for access where it suits you, with safe authentication
- 4Check backups and test a restore
Problems we fix
Problem
A release upgrade fails part way
What we do
We use the logs to see which transaction failed, repair the package set and resume, with a backup in hand.
Problem
A newer package version breaks an application
What we do
We pin or roll back the package, find the configuration change involved and decide whether to adapt the app or stay on the older version.
Problem
The server is two releases behind
What we do
We upgrade through the releases in order where that works, or build a fresh server and move the data.
Automatic tools, and our team for the rest
RootManage is automatic server management with every tool in one place. The tools run by themselves on a schedule and report to one dashboard. Everything they cannot do, and every emergency, is handled by our engineers by hand.
Automatic
Checked on a schedule we agree
Manual, by our engineers
Everything else, and every emergency
- Hands-on work. Fixes, tuning, migrations, upgrades and the other jobs listed above on this page.
- Emergency work. A hacked site, an outage or a failed update is handled by a person who investigates and fixes it, not by a script.
- Things we do not automate. Anything the tools do not cover is done by hand, over SSH, WHM or RDP, on a login you can remove at any time.
We manage it over SSH. The agent installers are built for the Linux distributions listed in the agent guide, so we confirm which agents fit your server before installing anything.
The tools are optional, run on Linux servers and are installed by you with one command each. Every job our team does is recorded as a task in your dashboard with the details, and you get an email when it is updated.
How it works
- 1
Sign up
Create an account, choose a plan and add the server you want managed.
- 2
Give access
We connect over RDP or SSH on a login you create, and you can remove it whenever you like.
- 3
Automatic, with people behind it
An engineer checks the server on the schedule we agree and does the hands-on work. You follow every task in your dashboard.
Questions about Fedora Server
Is Fedora a good choice for a production server?
It can be, if you are happy to upgrade about once a year. If you want to upgrade less often, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux or Ubuntu LTS are better fits, and we can move you.
Do you manage Fedora on a home or office server?
Yes, as long as we can reach it over SSH, for example through a VPN. We agree the access when you start.
What does it cost to have Fedora Server managed?
Managed plans start at ₹1,999 a month for one server, and Fedora Server is managed as part of the server. The pricing page lists what each plan includes. If a server is already infected, the emergency cleanup is a one-time ₹9,000 job.
